- Contrary to popular hype, The World Is Not Flat. It has, however, gone soft - and Bill H. has done all he could to make that happen. Working with software since the early 80s, he started working on multimedia projects with France's Minitel and the Sony Data Discman. After a spell fine-tuning Yellow Pages CD-ROM searches with phonetic reconnaissance algorithms he moved on to all things Internet of which he was an early adopter (well before the first batch of Web 1.0 script kiddies). Long ago observer apparatchik on the committee for the normalisation of C++ and once published in Dr Dobbs, he has been involved in developments for the mobile Internet, GPS, and other location-based applications since 2001.
